Killer Contest Feature # 1 - Yellow Pocket Rocket

Volkswagen Polo Coupé G40 (86c)

Feasting my eyes on the Yellow Polo G40 Supercharged stunning compact, neat and aggressive design. I feel an urgent need to have some adrenaline rush in this little lightweight chassis propelled by a 1.3 supercharged engine, it was and still it is the little German Pocket Rocket of the 90's any enthusiasts of hot-hatch would love to drive once in their lifetime. Nevertheless this model (Mk2F) was produced in limited editions, only 500 right hand drive models were ever made. This was the highest performance Polo with it's 1272cc engine , bore 75mm - stroke 72mm and the supercharger known as the "G-Lader" had an inlet diameter of 40mm henceforth the "G40" name . All these nicely put together at work give you a motive power of 85kw (114bhp) at 6000 rpm / Torque figure a 147Nm at 3,600 rpm generating pure driving pleasure.

The Pocket Rocket

The Thrill.

Cruising in town, kicking with some other new and freshly tuned cars on the asphalt or having wheel spin issues until third gear under hard acceleration. I can see the blank and incomprehending faces of these youngsters eyeballing and wondering what this fluttering is all about. The wheel arch extensions, bumper with fog lights and the red badge in the grille (on the stock version) which define the real "GT" car is unfamiliar to them as if they were given a Walkman instead of a super slim design MP3 player. As for the amateur/owners of this car model who knew it when it was new, were the distinctive owners of a car which was appreciated, envied and known for kicking off as fast as a rocket, the secret weapon  : s u p e r c h a r g e r
We have the pleasure to feature one which has undergone some tuning and upgrading while keeping the overall characteristics of the G40 under the skilled hands of the owner himself - Sudhir Mohun. Car tuner as profession, specialized in Honda -engine to chassis performance tuning, this guy knows the "v-tec" language and sometime can be seen flirting with Subaru boxer engines or the big V6 of a Nissan Skyline. But surprisingly his heart idle for a German car on which he has worked more than 4 years as a personal project (including full engine and supercharger rebuild). Today we have the chance to get a glimpse of this project car and we would like to salute the owner for his " Killer Ride".

Sitting proudly on these 17"rims with 205/40/17 tires with Silver's Coilovers, it's a head-turner everywhere it go while still giving brutal torque push even in the back seats.

Objective - no wheels to arches clearance + 4 pots front Wilwood Calipers for more stopping power

The Yellow Angry Bird not to mess with

A touch of modernity - crystal tail lights
